Using different character encodings:
To open a document with a different character encoding than the default: long press the open file button

DroidEdit is specially useful for new generation android tablets with external keyboards like the Asus Transformer.

Writer Mode: For those using DroidEdit to write text instead of code. Text prediction, if supported by virtual keyboard, and spell checking in ICS. Writer mode will be disabled automatically for files detected as code.
